Boil water and add all ingredients at once. Bring to a boil again, cook the soup for 7-10 minutes, season, add chopped garlic and herbs, then remove the soup from heat.

Preparation: Soak pearl barley in water for several hours or overnight. Finely chop the onion and carrot, finely dice the potatoes, cucumbers, and tomatoes. Boil water, add pearl barley, and cook for 15 minutes. Add diced potatoes and cook for 5 minutes.
