At first glance, making homemade blackberry wine might seem very difficult. In reality, it's incredibly simple and quick. We recommend getting airlock lids, but you can also use medical gloves with a small hole in a finger instead. Here are 8 excellent recipes!

1. Blackberry Wine with Raisins

Raisins are needed to kickstart the fermentation process. Do not wash them!

You will need: 2 kg blackberries, 1 L water, 1 kg sugar, 50 g raisins.

Preparation: Mash the blackberries into a puree and mix them with water, raisins, and 400 g of sugar. Place everything in a jar, tie gauze over the neck, and leave the mixture in a dark, warm place for 3-4 days. Stir it once a day.

Strain the juice through gauze, pressing the pulp to extract all liquid. Add another 300 g of sugar, stir, and leave everything under an airlock in a dark, warm place. After 4 days, drain 500 ml of juice, mix it with the remaining sugar, and pour it back in. Reinstall the airlock.

Leave the blackberry wine for 1-2 months until fermentation stops. Strain the mixture, leaving the sediment at the bottom, pour into clean containers, and send the wine to a cold, dark place for another 2-3 months. Every 3-4 weeks, strain it from the sediment. Then pour into clean bottles, cork, and store the blackberry wine.

2. Blackberry Wine with Honey

For this recipe, we recommend using floral or linden honey.

You will need: 1 kg blackberries, 4.5 L water, 1.7 kg sugar, 300 g honey.

Preparation: Mash the blackberries into a puree, pour 3 L of warm water over them, and leave in a glass container, tying gauze over the neck. Keep in a warm, dark place for 4 days, then filter through several layers of gauze.

Boil a syrup from the remaining water, sugar, and honey, let it cool, and mix with the wine base. Install an airlock and return the wine to a warm, dark place for fermentation for about 1-2 months. When fermentation ends and no more air comes out of the airlock, filter the wine from the sediment.
