Honey-Soy Chicken Drumsticks in the Oven – Step-by-Step RecipeSource: Magrig, AdobeStock

Thanks to the honey-soy sauce, chicken drumsticks baked in the oven turn out juicy inside with a beautiful crispy skin. Honey gives them a very appetizing color, and soy sauce enhances the flavor of the meat. We're sharing a tried-and-true step-by-step recipe that will be easy for you to follow!

Prep time: 1 hour 50 minutes.
Servings: 8.

Ingredients

  • 1 kg chicken drumsticks;
  • 3-4 cloves garlic;
  • 50 ml soy sauce;
  • 2 tablespoons honey;
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard;
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme;
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper.

Step-by-Step Recipe

  1. Wash and thoroughly pat dry the chicken drumsticks with paper towels.
  2. Peel and press the garlic. For the marinade, mix the garlic with honey, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, thyme, and ground black pepper.
  3. Place the drumsticks in this marinade, mix well, and let marinate for 1 hour in the refrigerator.
  4. After marinating, transfer the chicken drumsticks to a baking dish along with the marinade. You can optionally cover with foil.
  5. Bake for 45-50 minutes in an oven preheated to 180 degrees Celsius (350°F).
  6. 15 minutes before they are done, remove the foil and baste the drumsticks several times with the juices from the bottom of the pan to achieve an appetizing glaze.
