1. Potato Zrazy with Minced Meat

A nutritious and delicious complete meal.

You will need: 700 g mashed potatoes, 300 g minced meat, 1 onion, 1 egg, 2 tbsp cornstarch, salt, spices.

Preparation: Chop and fry the onion, add the minced meat and fry for about 10 minutes, stirring. Season during the process. Mix the mashed potatoes with the egg and cornstarch, knead into a firm dough and divide it into portions. Form flat cakes, place the minced meat filling on them, and seal the edges. Shape the zrazy as desired and fry for 3-4 minutes on each side over medium heat.

You will need: 400 g mashed potatoes, 1 chicken fillet, 1 onion, 1 clove garlic, 150 ml cream, 100 g hard cheese, 1 egg, 3 tbsp breadcrumbs, vegetable oil, herbs, salt, spices.

Preparation: Dice and fry the chicken fillet until golden, add the chopped onion and cook together for a few more minutes. Pour in the cream, add the pressed garlic, herbs, salt, and spices, and simmer for 5 minutes after boiling.

Mix the mashed potatoes with the beaten egg. Grease a baking dish with oil, sprinkle with breadcrumbs, and spread the mashed potatoes. Top with the chicken filling and sprinkle with grated cheese. Bake the casserole in the oven for about 30 minutes at 200 degrees Celsius.

5. Pan-Fried Potato Flatbreads

A quick snack that's ready in minutes.

You will need: 250 g mashed potatoes, 1 egg, 70-80 g flour, 40 g hard cheese, salt.

Preparation: Grate the cheese and mix all ingredients into a smooth mass. Divide the dough into portions, form flatbreads, and fry for 4-5 minutes on each side.

6. Shepherd's Pie

Perfect for the colder months.

You will need: 350 g mashed potatoes, 30 g butter, 30 g sour cream, 350 g minced meat, 1 carrot, 1/2 onion, 50 g frozen green peas, 50 g frozen or canned corn, 25 g flour, 80 ml broth, 15 ml vegetable oil, garlic, thyme, salt, spices.

Preparation: Mix the mashed potatoes with softened butter and sour cream, season to taste. Chop and fry the onion, carrot, and garlic until soft, add thyme, season, and cook for a few more minutes.

Add the minced meat to the vegetables and fry for another 5 minutes, stirring. Drain any excess liquid, add peas and corn, and continue cooking for 3 minutes. Sprinkle with flour, mix, and after 1 minute, pour in the broth.

Bring to a boil and after another 5 minutes, remove the filling from the heat. Place the filling in a baking dish, then spread the mashed potatoes evenly on top and bake the pie for about 25-30 minutes in the oven at 200 degrees Celsius.

7. Fried Potato Patties

Making homemade patties is much easier than it seems.

You will need: 250 ml water, 1 tsp dry yeast, 1/4 cup vegetable oil, 0.5 tbsp sugar, 0.5 tsp salt, 3 cups flour, 250 g mashed potatoes, 50 g onion.

Preparation: Chop and fry the onion until golden, mix it with the mashed potatoes and season if desired. Combine flour, sugar, salt, and yeast, pour in warm water with oil, and knead into a smooth dough.

Leave it in a warm place for half an hour, then divide into portions and flatten them into discs. Place the filling on each disc, shape and fry the patties on both sides until golden over medium heat.

You will need: 600 g mashed potatoes, 3 eggs, 2 tbsp flour, 0.5 tsp salt, spices.

Preparation: Thoroughly mix all ingredients until smooth, without lumps. Spoon the batter onto a heated pan and fry the fritters on both sides over medium heat.

9. Potato Gnocchi

An original alternative to traditional side dishes.

You will need: 600 g mashed potatoes, 40 g butter, 1 egg, 100 g flour, 30-40 g Parmesan, herbs, salt, spices.

Preparation: Mix mashed potatoes with egg, grated Parmesan, flour, salt, and spices to taste. Roll the dough into long ropes, cut into even pieces, then press with a fork or spoon to form gnocchi. After that, boil them for 3-4 minutes in boiling water and then sauté for 5-7 minutes in a pan with butter. Sprinkle with chopped herbs before serving.

10. Mashed Potato Pie with Ham and Sausage

You will need: 500 g mashed potatoes, 250 g hard cheese, 150 g ham, 150 g smoked sausage, 1/3 cup milk, 3 tbsp breadcrumbs, 2 tbsp vegetable oil, 2 tbsp butter, salt, spices.

Preparation: Mix mashed potatoes with milk and 200 g grated cheese. Finely chop the sausage and ham, mix them into the mashed potatoes, and add vegetable oil and spices.

Place everything into a buttered baking dish, sprinkle with breadcrumbs, and arrange butter slices on top. Sprinkle with the remaining cheese and bake for 20-30 minutes in the oven at 180 degrees Celsius.
