You can cook tilapia with an appetizing crust without a lot of oil. An air fryer helps achieve a golden-brown batter, keeping the fish fillet tender and juicy inside. The main thing here is that the batter should not be too liquid. This recipe is exactly that!

Ingredients

  • 700 g tilapia fillet;
  • 2 chicken eggs;
  • 100 g wheat flour;
  • 40 g breadcrumbs;
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil;
  • 1/2 teaspoon sweet paprika;
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried garlic;
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper;
  • 1 teaspoon salt.

Step-by-Step Recipe

  1. Cut the thawed tilapia fillet into serving pieces.
  2. Whisk the eggs with ground black pepper and salt. In a separate bowl, mix the flour with paprika and dried garlic.
  3. Dredge the fish pieces in the flour mixture, then dip them into the beaten eggs and coat them in breadcrumbs.
  4. Transfer the tilapia to the air fryer basket and lightly spray with vegetable oil.
  5. Cook the fish for approximately 14-16 minutes in the air fryer at 190 degrees Celsius (375°F). After 7-8 minutes, carefully flip the pieces with a spatula.
