Ingredients
- 400 g ground meat;
- 4 potatoes;
- 80 g buckwheat;
- 1 carrot;
- 1 onion;
- 1 chicken egg;
- 2 liters of water;
- 2 bay leaves;
- salt and ground black pepper to taste;
- fresh herbs, optional.
Step-by-Step Recipe
- For the meatballs, it's best to use a mixed ground pork and beef, though chicken will also work. Add the egg, a little salt, and ground black pepper to the ground meat, mix, and form small balls.
- Bring water to a boil in a pot. Add the diced potatoes and rinsed buckwheat, and cook for 10 minutes over medium heat.
- Finely chop the onion, grate the carrot, and add the vegetables to the pot along with the bay leaf.
- Carefully lower the meatballs into the soup, and after it comes to a boil again, simmer over low heat for another 15-20 minutes, until the potatoes, buckwheat, and meat are fully cooked.
- Season with salt and pepper, remove the bay leaf, and sprinkle the soup with fresh herbs before serving. Enjoy your meal!
