Small chicken meatballs cook much faster than regular cutlets and are perfect for an everyday meal. When braised in sour cream sauce in a skillet, they become especially tender and literally soak up its flavor. This dish is convenient to serve with any side dish or even on its own. We share a proven step-by-step recipe!

Ingredients

  • 600 g ground chicken;
  • 1 onion;
  • 2 tablespoons rice or wheat flour;
  • 200 ml sour cream, 15% fat;
  • 150 ml chicken broth;
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil;
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground paprika;
  • 1 teaspoon salt;
  • vegetable oil for frying.

Step-by-step recipe

  1. Peel and grate the onion finely, mix it with ground chicken, flour, and half of the salt.
  2. Form small meatballs, about the size of a walnut.
  3. Heat a skillet with vegetable oil and fry the meatballs for 3-4 minutes, turning them carefully.
  4. Separately, mix sour cream, chicken broth, dried basil, paprika, and the remaining salt.
  5. Pour the prepared sour cream sauce into the skillet and cook the meatballs for another 12-15 minutes, covered, over low heat.
