Delicious Pork Belly in Onion Skins – Step-by-Step Recipe

Ingredients
- 1.2 kg pork belly;
- 40 g onion skins;
- 5-6 cloves garlic;
- salt and peppercorns.
Step-by-step recipe
- Choose pork belly with a good amount of meat. Wash it and cut into large pieces that will fit into a pot. Choose a dark pot, as the onion skins may stain it.
- Rinse the onion skins several times to remove all dust. Place them in the pot and pour in about 2.5 liters of water. Add salt and peppercorns and place the pot on the stove.
- Bring to a boil and add the peeled garlic cloves. Carefully place the pork belly into the prepared onion broth. It should be completely covered with water.
- Cook the pork belly for approximately 1-1.5 hours over low heat, depending on the size of the pieces.
- After that, let it cool in the onion broth, then pat dry with paper towels, wrap in cling film, and refrigerate for several hours.
