Fried Pelmeni with Sour Cream and Cheese in a Skillet
Source: Sherstobitov, AdobeStockEven ordinary pelmeni can become much more interesting if you slightly change the cooking method. When fried, pelmeni acquire an appetizing golden crust, while sour cream and cheese make the dish more tender. This recipe is perfect for a quick lunch or a late dinner!

Ingredients
- 500 g frozen pelmeni;
- 150 g sour cream (20% fat);
- 100 g hard cheese;
- 100 ml water;
- 2 cloves garlic;
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano;
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper;
- 1 teaspoon salt;
- vegetable oil for frying.
Step-by-step recipe
- Grate the cheese on a coarse grater. Press the garlic through a press.
- Fry the frozen pelmeni for 4-5 minutes in a preheated skillet with a little oil until golden.
- In a separate bowl, mix the sour cream with water, pressed garlic, oregano, ground black pepper, and salt.
- Pour this sauce into the skillet, cover, and cook the pelmeni for 8-10 minutes over low heat.
- Then sprinkle the fried pelmeni with grated cheese and, if desired, chopped herbs. Cover and cook for another 2-3 minutes, until the cheese melts.
