Ingredients
- 1.5 kg pork loin;
- 2 onions;
- 2 cloves garlic;
- 150 ml kefir;
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil;
- 1 teaspoon sweet paprika;
- 1 teaspoon dried basil;
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper;
- 1 teaspoon salt.
Step-by-step recipe
- Wash and pat dry the pork loin with paper towels. Cut the meat into uniform pieces, about 4-5 cm in size.
- Peel and slice the onions into half-rings, and press the garlic through a press. Mix kefir, vegetable oil, onion, garlic, paprika, basil, salt, and ground black pepper.
- Place the pork into the prepared marinade, mix thoroughly, and let it marinate for 4 hours in the refrigerator. You can also leave it overnight.
- After marinating, thread the meat onto skewers, gently removing any onion pieces to prevent them from burning.
- Grill the pork loin shashlik for approximately 15-18 minutes over well-burnt coals, turning the skewers regularly.
