Juicy Pork Neck Baked in Foil in the Oven
Source: Mara Zemgaliete, AdobeStockThanks to its layers of fat, pork neck rarely dries out and becomes very tender during cooking. To ensure it turns out as juicy as possible, you can bake it in foil in the oven. In our recipe, we'll show you a great way to do just that!
Prep time: 2 hours 40 minutes.
Servings: 8.
Ingredients
- 1.5 kg pork neck;
- 5 cloves garlic;
- 2 tablespoons whole grain mustard;
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil;
- 1 teaspoon sweet paprika;
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme;
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper;
- 1 teaspoon salt.
Step-by-step recipe
- Wash and pat dry the pork neck with paper towels. Make deep incisions all over the meat with a knife and insert garlic slices into them.
- Mix the whole grain mustard, vegetable oil, paprika, dried thyme, ground black pepper, and salt. Thoroughly rub the meat on all sides with this mixture and let it marinate for 40 minutes.
- Then, tightly wrap the pork in two layers of foil and transfer it to a baking dish.
- Bake the pork neck for 1 hour 40 minutes in an oven preheated to 180 degrees Celsius. After that, unwrap the foil and bake the meat for another 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
