Preparation: Slice the onion into half-rings and fry in a cauldron until golden. Add carrot sticks and continue frying until they soften.
Pour in hot water to cover the vegetables by 1.5 cm. Add spices, whole garlic heads, a whole chili, and simmer for 10 minutes over low heat. Spread the rice evenly on top, add more water, and simmer under a lid until the grain is cooked.
3. Lenten Jam Pie

You will need: 400 g flour, 200 g sugar, 200 ml water, 200 ml vegetable oil, 2 tsp baking powder, 200 g jam.
Preparation: Mix water with sugar until dissolved and pour in vegetable oil. Gradually add sifted flour with baking powder, knead a firm dough, and place 2/3 into a baking dish with sides. Spread the jam and sprinkle the remaining grated dough on top. Bake the pie for 30-40 minutes at 180 degrees.
