Homemade flatbreads are a real find, a great snack, and a good alternative to store-bought bread. These no-yeast kefir flatbreads are quick to prepare in the oven and turn out soft and aromatic. Use them as an accompaniment to first courses or main dishes! We're sharing the best recipe!

Servings: 4.

Ingredients

  • 250 ml kefir;
  • 275-300 g wheat flour;
  • 2.5 tablespoons vegetable oil;
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda;
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds;
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt.

Step-by-Step Recipe

  1. Mix room-temperature kefir with baking soda and let it sit for 2-3 minutes to react.
  2. Pour in the vegetable oil, gradually add the sifted flour with salt, and knead the dough. Initially, it will be very bubbly.
  3. Then wrap the elastic and slightly sticky dough in cling film and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  4. Next, divide the dough into portions and roll out thin flatbreads on a floured surface.
  5. Place the flatbreads on parchment paper, sprinkle with sesame seeds, and bake for 12-20 minutes in the oven at 180 degrees Celsius. The time depends on the thickness of the flatbreads, so look for a golden brown color.
