The combination of sweet and savory flavors has long been a classic and is perfect for baking chicken. As it cooks in the oven, the honey-soy sauce gradually caramelizes, giving the chicken wings an appetizing golden-brown crust. We share a simple, tried-and-true recipe!

Ingredients

  • 1 kg chicken wings;
  • 2 cloves garlic;
  • 50-60 ml soy sauce;
  • 2 tablespoons honey;
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste;
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika;
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger;
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper.

Step-by-step recipe

  1. Wash and thoroughly pat dry the chicken wings with paper towels. If desired, cut them at the joints.
  2. Peel and press the garlic. Mix it with soy sauce, honey, tomato paste, smoked paprika, ground ginger, and black pepper.
  3. Pour this marinade over the wings, mix thoroughly, and let them marinate for 40-50 minutes in the refrigerator.
  4. Then transfer the chicken wings to a baking dish in a single layer and pour the remaining marinade over them.
  5. Bake the dish for approximately 45 minutes in an oven preheated to 190 degrees Celsius (375°F). Be sure to flip the wings once during cooking so they brown evenly.
