Italian cuisine has long proven that you don't need dozens of complex ingredients for a delicious dinner. Pasta with shrimp in creamy garlic sauce cooks quite quickly, yet looks like a dish from a fine restaurant! We're sharing a tried-and-true step-by-step recipe!

Servings: 4.

Ingredients

  • 300 g pasta;
  • 500 g peeled shrimp;
  • 250 ml cream (20% fat);
  • 40 g hard cheese;
  • 2-3 cloves garlic;
  • 30 g butter;
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil;
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper;
  • 1 teaspoon salt.

Step-by-Step Recipe

  1. Cook the pasta in salted water until al dente according to package instructions. Drain the water, reserving about 100 ml of the pasta water.
  2. Press the garlic through a press and sauté it for 30 seconds in a heated pan with butter. Add the shrimp and cook for 2 minutes.
  3. Pour in the cream, add the grated cheese, dried basil, ground black pepper, and salt. Stir and cook the sauce for 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add the pasta to the pan with the shrimp and creamy sauce. If necessary, pour in a little of the reserved pasta water and gently mix.
  5. Cook the dish for another 1-2 minutes, and sprinkle with chopped herbs before serving, if desired.
