Pollock remains one of the most popular fish due to its availability, delicate taste, and minimal bones. And from pollock, you can make juicy homemade fish cakes with an appetizing golden crust. This recipe is easy to cook in a pan and is perfect for an everyday meal!

Ingredients

  • 700-800 g pollock fillet;
  • 2 slices white bread;
  • 80 ml milk;
  • 1 onion;
  • 1 chicken egg;
  • 2 cloves garlic;
  • 3 sprigs dill;
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground paprika;
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper;
  • 1 teaspoon salt;
  • vegetable oil for frying.

Step-by-step recipe

  1. Soak the white bread in milk for 5 minutes. Rinse the pollock fillet, pat dry with paper towels, and pass through a meat grinder.
  2. Finely grate the onion, press the garlic through a press, and finely chop the dill.
  3. Squeeze excess milk from the bread and mix it with the minced fish, onion, garlic, egg, dill, spices, and salt. Mix thoroughly and let the mixture rest for 10 minutes.
  4. With wet hands, form medium-sized fish cakes.
  5. Fry the pollock fish cakes for 4-5 minutes on each side in a preheated pan with vegetable oil. Then cover the pan and cook them for another 5-6 minutes over low heat.
