Pork Neck Baked in a Sleeve in the Oven – A Simple Recipe
Source: Gkrphoto, AdobeStockIf you want to prepare melt-in-your-mouth meat with minimal effort, then using a baking sleeve is the way to go. It locks in moisture, so the pork neck bakes in its own juices and remains exceptionally tender. We're sharing a tried-and-true recipe!
Preparation time: 3 hours.
Servings: 8.
Ingredients
- 1.2 kg pork neck;
- 3 onions;
- 4 cloves garlic;
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce;
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil;
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary;
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika;
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper;
- 1 teaspoon salt.
Step-by-Step Recipe
- Wash and pat dry the pork neck with paper towels. Peel and slice the onions into thick half-rings, and press the garlic through a press.
- Mix the soy sauce with vegetable oil, garlic, salt, and all the spices. Adjust the amount of salt to taste, considering the soy sauce. Thoroughly rub the pork with the prepared marinade.
- Place half of the onion in the baking sleeve, add the pork on top, and cover it with the remaining onion. Let the meat marinate for 1 hour.
- Then tie the sleeve on both sides and make several small punctures on top with a toothpick.
- Bake the pork neck for approximately 1 hour 40 minutes in the oven at 180 degrees Celsius (350°F). After that, cut open the sleeve and bake for another 15 minutes until golden brown.
