Ingredients
- 250 g long-grain rice;
- 450 g peeled shrimp;
- 1 carrot;
- 1 onion;
- 2 cloves garlic;
- 100 g canned corn;
- 500 ml hot water;
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil;
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric;
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper;
- 1 teaspoon salt.
Step-by-Step Recipe
- Rinse the rice until the water runs clear. Peel and finely dice the onion, grate the carrot, and finely chop the garlic.
- Sauté the onion and carrot in vegetable oil until soft, stirring occasionally. Add the garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.
- Add the rice, stir, and heat for 2 minutes. Then pour in the hot water, add turmeric, ground black pepper, and salt.
- Cover the pan with a lid and cook the rice for 18-20 minutes over low heat. 5 minutes before the end, add the shrimp and canned corn.
- After cooking, gently stir the dish and let it sit covered for another 5 minutes.
