One of the best ways to cook rainbow trout is to bake it whole in the oven. This helps preserve the fish's juiciness and enhances its natural flavor. Such a dish looks impressive but is much simpler to prepare than it might seem. Take note of our recipe!

Ingredients

  • 2 rainbow trout;
  • 1 lemon;
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil;
  • 2 cloves garlic;
  • 3 sprigs parsley;
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano;
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper;
  • 1 teaspoon salt.

Step-by-Step Recipe

  1. Rinse and pat the trout dry with paper towels. Make 3-4 shallow cuts on each side with a knife. Slice the lemon into rounds, and press the garlic through a press.
  2. Mix the olive oil with garlic, oregano, ground black pepper, and salt. Thoroughly rub the fish inside and out with this marinade.
  3. Place lemon slices and parsley sprigs into the cavity of each trout.
  4. Transfer the fish to a baking dish lined with parchment paper.
  5. Bake the trout for 30-35 minutes in an oven preheated to 180 degrees Celsius (350°F).
