In Asian cuisine, marinated chicken feet are not considered exotic, but a common snack. And their preparation has its own peculiarities: for example, speed is not as important as the process – slow simmering in sauce and spices. Today we will share 8 proven Chinese chicken feet recipes, so take note!

1. Chicken Feet with Soy Sauce

We recommend sprinkling the finished snack with sesame seeds before serving.

You will need: 700 g chicken feet, 50 ml soy sauce, 6-7 tbsp sugar, 1.5 tbsp grated ginger, 1 chili pepper, vegetable oil, spices to taste.

Preparation: Wash, clean the feet and trim the claws. Fry them in hot vegetable oil until golden brown over high heat, stirring constantly – this will take about 10 minutes. Add sugar, mix thoroughly and continue frying until caramelized.

When the feet turn browner, add soy sauce, ginger, and chopped chili pepper, sprinkle with spices, and pour in 1 cup of boiling water. Then reduce the heat and simmer the dish until the liquid has reduced by half. The chicken feet are ready!

2. Chinese Chicken Feet with Balsamic and Spices

If desired, change the set of spices to your liking.

You will need: 500 g chicken feet, 80 ml soy sauce, 3 tbsp balsamic vinegar, 2 tbsp sugar, 4 cloves garlic, 1 cm ginger root, vegetable oil, ground cinnamon, cumin, cloves, coriander, dried basil, ground red pepper.

Preparation: Cover the cleaned feet with water, bring to a boil, cook for 10 minutes, rinse, and repeat the entire procedure. Heat oil in a pan, then add finely chopped ginger, garlic, sugar, and all the spices.

Lightly fry the spicy mixture, add the chicken feet, pour in soy sauce and a little of the remaining broth so that the feet are covered with liquid. Simmer for 40 minutes over medium heat, stirring occasionally.

This makes a true Asian delicacy!

You will need: 500 g chicken feet, 3 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tsp sugar, 0.5 tsp rice vinegar, 0.5 tsp oyster sauce, 3-4 cloves garlic, 2 chili peppers, 2 green onion stalks, 1 cm ginger root, 2 star anise, vegetable oil.

Preparation: Trim the claws, clean, remove large bones, and cut the feet in half. Cover them with boiling water (so they are submerged), add salt, sugar, and rice vinegar, bring to a boil, and cook for 2-3 minutes. Then drain the water and marinate the chicken feet in soy sauce for about 30 minutes.

Next, fry them until golden brown in plenty of oil – as if deep-frying, then immerse them in ice water for 3-4 hours. Separately, mix chopped garlic, green onions, chili, ginger, crushed anise, oyster sauce, and a little more soy sauce. Transfer the feet to a pan, pour in 1 cup of water and the previously prepared sauce, and simmer for about 15-20 minutes over medium heat, stirring.

Preparation: Clean and soak the chicken feet in cold water for 2 hours. Then cover them with boiling water and cook for 10 minutes, then rinse and cover again with fresh boiling water. Add a spoonful of salt, bay leaf, and allspice, and cook the feet for another half an hour.

Mix soy sauce, rice vinegar, mustard, honey, and the remaining spices. Marinate the feet in this marinade for 30 minutes, then fry until golden brown in hot vegetable oil. Pour in the remaining marinade and cook until it evaporates.
