Adjarian Khachapuri from Ready-Made Puff Pastry – Step-by-Step Recipe

Today we will share with you a wonderful recipe for Adjarian Khachapuri made from ready-made puff pastry. Try it and appreciate the advantages of this option!

Ingredients
- 1 kg puff pastry;
- 4 chicken eggs;
- 2 egg yolks;
- 300 g Suluguni cheese;
- 300 g cottage cheese (or farmer's cheese);
- ground black pepper to taste;
- salt to taste.
Step-by-Step Recipe
- Remove the puff pastry from its packaging, unroll it on a table, and let it thaw at room temperature.
- Pass the cottage cheese through a sieve or blend it in a blender.
- Grate the Suluguni cheese on a fine grater.
- Mix together the cottage cheese, Suluguni, ground black pepper, and salt. The filling is ready!
- Divide the puff pastry into 4 equal pieces. Roll out each piece to form a large rectangle. Fold up the edges to create high sides.
- Place a quarter of the cheese and cottage cheese filling inside each "boat."
- Repeat the same process with the remaining pastry pieces.
- Carefully transfer the khachapuri to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, and brush the pastry with egg yolk.
- Bake the Adjarian khachapuri for about 10 minutes in an oven preheated to 220 degrees Celsius (425°F).
- After that, remove the khachapuri from the oven, make small indentations in the cheese mixture with a spoon, and crack one egg into each. Bake for another 5 minutes at 200 degrees Celsius (400°F).
- Adjarian khachapuri made from puff pastry is recommended to be served hot with fresh herbs and vegetables.
