Ingredients
- 400 g chicken fillet;
- 300 g white cabbage;
- 2 potatoes;
- 1 beetroot;
- 1 carrot;
- 1 onion;
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste;
- 2 liters of water;
- 2 bay leaves;
- 1 teaspoon sugar;
- salt and ground black pepper to taste.
Step-by-step recipe
- Pour water over the chicken fillet, bring to a boil, skim off the foam, and cook for about 25 minutes. Then remove the meat, cut it into small pieces, and set aside.
- Add the chopped potatoes to the broth and cook for 10 minutes.
- Add the shredded cabbage, grated beetroot, carrot, and finely chopped onion to the pot.
- Add the tomato paste, sugar, bay leaf, and cook for another 20 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
- After that, return the chicken to the borsch, season with salt and pepper, and heat everything together for another 2-3 minutes.
- Although this is a diet borsch, let it steep for a bit under the lid before serving. Enjoy your meal!
