In the vast majority of cases, watermelon jam is best made using the five-minute method in several stages.

You will need: 1 kg watermelon, 500 g sugar, 2 pinches of cinnamon.

Preparation: Peel the watermelon flesh, remove the seeds, and cut it into small pieces. Add sugar and leave the mixture for a couple of hours. Then bring to a boil, cook for 5 minutes, and let it cool. Repeat this step once more. Add cinnamon, cook the jam for 5 minutes a third time, then seal it in sterilized jars.

If you want a thicker preserve, choose this recipe.

You will need: 1 kg watermelon flesh, 1 kg sugar, 1 pinch vanilla, 1 lemon, 1 packet pectin.

Preparation: Mix pectin with a couple of spoons of sugar. Cut the watermelon into cubes, sprinkle with the remaining sugar, and leave for 2 hours. Then bring to a boil, cook for 20 minutes, and remove from heat for another 2 hours. Cook again and strain the mixture through a sieve.
